Homework Clubs provide school age children with homework assistance and skill development opportunities in a safe, supervised neighbourhood setting.

Homework Clubs offer:

  • assistance with the homework
  • activities to improve academic skills (reading, writing, and math)
  • educational games
  • activities to promote social skills and leadership
  • nutritious snacks.

Homework Clubs also provide opportunities for volunteers and mentors. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or mentor with the Homework Clubs please contact Susan Wright, our volunteer coordinator, at (416)789-7441 x 233.

Macaulay operates the following Homework Clubs:

1.) Brookhaven Homework Club
Where:    Brookhaven Public School, 70 Brookhaven Dr.
When:     Mondays and Wednesdays 3:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.

2.) Macaulay Homework Club at Frontlines
Where:    1844 Weston Rd
When:     Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

3.) Humberwood Homework Club
Where:    Humberwood Public Library, 850 Humberwood Blvd.
When:     Tuesdays and Wednesdays 3:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.
 
4.) HJ Alexander Homework Club
Where:    H.J. Alexander Community School, 30 King St. (Weston & Lawerence)
When:     Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
 
5.)  Portage Trail Homework Club
Where:    Portage trail Community Junior School, 100 Sidney Belsey Cres.
When:     Monday and Wednesdays 3:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.
