Macaulay's Ontario Early Years Centres are supportive, welcoming, and accessible places where parents/caregivers and pre-school age children can play and learn together.

Everyone Benefits from the OEYC
Children from infancy to 6 yrs have opportunities to develop social, communication and early literacy skills that are associated with success in school and in life. Parents and Caregivers can learn about child growth and development, meet other parents/caregivers, share parenting experiences with professional staff and find out about other community services. Parent education workshops, guest speakers and individual consultations bring information about child development to parents and caregivers on a regular basis.

OEYC'S provide 5 core services that benefit children, parents, caregivers and the community. These are:

  • Early learning opportunities - learning through play environments for children 0-6 yrs, including children with special needs
  • Parenting education and information workshops, courses and individual sessions that enrich parenting capacity
  • Prenatal and postnatal resources and information - information for new parents;
  • Information and referral services - links with other service
    providers in the community
  • Volunteer opportunities

OEYC staff provide culturally appropriate services, many of which are available in several languages. Macaulay has special expertise in ensuring all children can participate in our programs, including children with special needs.

All OEYC programs and services are FREE and are funded by the Province of Ontario's Ministry of Children and Youth Services.
